seriously, I have much to tell... :)

internet! yay!

I really can't believe I have survived 2 weeks without my laptop! It felt like Lent all over again! but only this time, I'm actually sacrificing something (Yep, didn't do much for Lent this year. Last year was about chocolates. I know riiight.. but I guess I'm just not at the stage to sacrifice juicy meat for forty days, *faints just thinking about it*).

Anyway, my baby laptop has decided to go into a coma and of course it has been on life support for the past one month. I've just been in denial of its medical situation, decided to let it fight off the problem with its own brute strength. Finally, its heart beat stopped and so was reluctantly sent to the "revival" station.

The past 2 weeks of absence was the hardest ever in my history with my laptop. Of course, I worry about... wait, I just realised I didn't name my laptop. I named by car Bee. :).. yeah anyway, was pretty worried about my laptop's safety and more importantly...

my songs and photos are in there!!! its like my whole life in chapters stored in there. I was worried. Had sweaty palms sometimes just thinking about it. And of course, it also died on me during a time when I needed to do my major monthly e-bankings, bill payments, Tax filing. Aiyo.

And I try to while my time away by keeping myself busy... and then I realized that the only thing I do when I'm not working, or e-banking or e-filing, is done on my laptop. *cue drama!

O_O

So I did what most social outcasts did... I read endlessly... it was hard because I'm so not up-to-date with the world!

Like, why did X from Front Office break up with Y? Why, Yvonne? Why? Well, I don't know! argh. How can I not know! hmm.. I could see the disappointment in my Senior Sales Manager's face. "How come you don't know?"

and so... when that didn't work out (I mean, I can't be reading Waiter's Rant, Time Traveller's Wife and Dear John back to back for 2 weeks in a row), I tried texting people more, tried going out for dinners more. But it is just not the same.

I also wanted to practice some Yoga and then I realize I play my Yoga CD on my laptop because the recorded volume's pretty low and needed to be amplified on speakers. grr.

I also got mild OCD. I cleaned up everything that I see. Everything seemed to need a scrub, a rub, some polishing, some wiping. I felt like a grown up woman for once! The maternal instinct to keep things neat and tidy! Or maybe I was just bored.

And when my fingers decided to sound the alarm of abuse, I stopped cleaning and, hold your breath(!), took out my abandoned notebook and my fave pen and started writing a book!

But of course, it stopped at page 5.

So "ma kwai fun", Cantonese for "freaking troublesome", to write and when you think maybe "munch" is more interesting a word than, say, "eat" or "chew" or "snack", as in, "As I munched on that unsalted bag of chips, I suddenly remembered that I was supposed to ta pao fried bananas for my mom and her mahjong kakis". So should I use Munch, Ate, Chew, or Snacked?

Erm, anyways, so when you think you might prefer to use "munch" you have to either use white outs or draw a line across the unwanted word to axe it. So messy!!!

I miss you Microsoft Word!

So when I got my laptop back on my lap this afternoon, after driving 300KM back to Johor for it, I was almost thinking of dramatically shedding some tears of joy. Just to emphasize to my parents how much my laptop meant to me because they didn't agree to send it back to me in KL. -_-

I missed you. Don't ever die on me again, OK? Next time you do that, I'll just go queue for an iPad.

1) You have very bad skin
2) You look like you are suffering from malnutrition/could have more nutritious foods

I am at point 6 now (and all of the above). Ache.For.Holiday. and it is not even mid year yet!

soooo need this. right now.

and the list continues to more drastic side effects..7,8,9... but that shall be kept for another day. Let's see how I, little potato in need of some sand and sea, survive till June then.

25 June 2009

what's the fucking point?

OK, very fucking angry right now.

This will be a good lesson to me. Have to put it down in writing (albeit digital one) so I will forever have it carved in my memory and never follow this stupid tradition.

Now, why do we fucking choose to purchase products/services from people we know?

My parents have a very old school thinking that we should buy things from people we know.. like friends, relatives, acquaintances etc because of a few reasons - support their business, solicit discounts, a peace of mind that the goods/services sold will have a quality guarantee.

Like real la.

fuck.

When the product/services screw up, the disadvantages start to show:
1) They apologize and automatically expects forgiveness (which we are obligated to because of the relationship - what we call "close one eye")
2) They give you some excuse/reason and you are compelled to accept (otherwise, does that mean you don't trust your friend?)
3) You can show you are not happy but you cannot complain too much because you have to "give face"

and this, ladies and gentlemen, is the fucking problem.

What more if that friend/relative/acquaintance is your parent's friend/relative/acquaintance which automatically upgrades them to "senior" level whereby you practically cannot do anything about it but sulk and wait for the slow recovery of the situation.

and I hate that whole "nothing you can do about it" situation.

fuck.

Like, will you choose to eat a mediocre plate of, say, char kuay teow just because the owner of the stall is your friend when you know you can get a superb and famous one next door selling at the same price with people queueing up to buy it. The only problem is the queue. Or maybe also sometimes it would be more expensive.

BUT at the end of the day, I know I'm getting a good plate of char kuay teow. And I eat it to satisfaction with I can tell the stall owner "good job!" and when the chef does a bad job, I can tell him, "why nowadays you don't add enough si-ham one?". If it was that your father's friend who cooked it, can you do that? NO. and you go home fhungry. and fangry.

SO. No more buying things from people I know. If there are people queueing up to buy from you, then OK lah. THEN I will use my friendship with you to get you to sell it to me first.

01 May 2009

wah!

So it is Labour Day today and I didn't have any internet connection and so after waking up at 12.30pm (excuse: I am on medication), I had lunch and turned on the TV for my pigging out in front of the TV. I AM on medication.

Well, if you feel you lack sadness in your life, turning on the TV at 1.30pm is the best way to feel the depression and sadness that you need. Wah. From RTM 1 to TV9, all sad shows! Even the Feel Good channel was not spared. RTM 1 had some discussion on some sad issue, RTM2 had a scene where a prostitute was crying while praying because she was forced into it while her evil colleagues told her to dream on, TV3 had a Makcik staying in an old, dirty hut by herself with no money because her son and evil wife duped her into moving out on the pretext that they want to renovate it to make it bigger and so they can live with her and take care of her BUT never invited her back to her now big house. NTV7 had a scene where a family is crying at a funeral and the father saying "it is all my fault, it is all my fault". TV9... is just plain sad.

There is no use of a flat screen TV if you don't have good stuff on TV. Or Astro. Or good movies on DVD. Let's see. Have watched Austalia (whoa, loved that scene where Hugh Jackman took a bath in the woods with that one can of water). Protege... hmm... let's watch again! Watching a movie twice is made OK when you have Daniel Wu starring in it. yum cha yum cha.. there goes my afternoon.

Halfway reading my "A complaint is a Gift", suddenly I thought... Maybe, just maybe, I can test out my internet and see if I can still use it. Bingo! Can still be used! whoa!! I wonder why... even when I don't top up! Its OK... add some shine to my day.

Yesterday, said before dodgy number guy called me to explain why my internet connection is slow. Actually, I think there will be less damage done if he didn't call because this is what he said:

"I have already asked my boss and he told me that where you are staying is under the Umbrella Effect.. yada yada (something I didn't get)... So that's why it is slower now. So that's why we decided to OFFER to you to top up at RM48, less expensive, because you are not getting the fast speed up to 1mbps. This one will change yours to half the speed. So it is savings for you! So now you pay half the price and can still get connection!"

Of course, I was speechless.

But, since he is so sincere in "helping" his customers, I decided it is OK. Just straight to the point: I told him that I don't care about money. I want the speed.

He said he have to refer to his boss and find out what other solutions he can offer other than the hint he gave such as, erm, you still want to stay there? Hahaha... move out to another place just so I can subscribe to your internet? wah.... very confident la this fella.

Now I'm really anticipating if he will ever call back and if he does, what solutions his company can offer me.

internet woes

OK, so with NO choice because I stay so many floors above ground I made a hasty decision on Saturday...

I signed up for Streamyx!

Shit. Suddenly I got this feeling like the kind of feeling you get when you finally made a decision and the decision is something that people frown upon. Is this matter something that I should march on ahead with or frown along?

hmmm...

The thing is, Streamyx has been having lotsa bad press if you ask me. However, my mom and dad uses Streamyx but does not seem to be having problems...so far... so.. this is a 50/50 thing.

Only time will tell. Let's see how efficient they are first. I was told to wait 3 days for them to call me to install the whatsit and then 2 days to deliver the modem whatsit. I will not have internet till the weekend! help!!!

Oh, right now I'm using the final day of my current Izzi and am glad. It all seemed fine and dandy at first but their customer service really really needs improvements. Not professional and they always have dodgy mobile numbers calling you to inquire on when is the last day of my top up, like, what the fuck? I should be asking you!! And there was once this guy called to say he can offer to sell the top up at a cheaper rate and I question him how will I know if he is really from Izzi and he decided to say, "Well, I'm calling you now to give you this offer!" Not the answer that I was looking for so I hung up.

Then suddenly, 2 days ago, some other guy called me on his mobile to "inform" me that I did not top up and would like to offer me to buy a top up from him and I said, no, I'm still surfing the internet and it is so slow by the way. Then he ask, oh, how many days do you have left before you need to top up. I said, I think you should be telling me, not me telling you. Then he proceeded to step on thin ice by asking me this , "what do you mean by slow?"

I said, well, picture this: I click to open my e-mail, I go out for dinner and I come back, the e-mail is not opened. So how?

He said impossible and I said this is what I am experiencing sometimes.

Then he decided to make an appointment to come over and check it out. OK, can give second chance. But he or his "technicians" did not call back. Too bad. It was promising but it died a sure death.

Anyways, all that shall be behind my ass now. However, the future seems to be rather dodgy too. haih...

11 April 2009

finally?

So.

It is past Good Friday now.

Before this, I told myself that the moment I reach Saturday, I shall eaaaaaaaat chocolates! Like I mean it! Like a big kid, I announced that I'm going to hunt down alllll the Easter Bunnies Chocolates and eat 'em all! Move aside kiddies! (To which my bossy pointed out that it wasn't what Easter is all about. I know...)

But it has been a whole 23 hours and I did not gobble chocolates like I'm having THAT time of the month x 12. x 12!

:)

Because to fast is not about to end up indulging in it later on, right? Then, it would just be self torture.

Anyways, no chocs and no meat for me yesterday for Good Friday. One of my colleagues joined me on the Vegetarian flavoured Maggi cup noodles lunch yesterday. For her religious purposes, she has her own meat-fasting vows for Tuesdays and Fridays.

"I'm not even supposed to have sex on these days."

"And not even think about it!" she announced.

To which we were quite sceptical. o_o

"But I can't help it la."

By the way, we had a farewell party that day in the staff lounge and, man, were the desserts deeelicious. Ooh, mini strawberries. Ooh, watermelon. Ooh, tiny oval-shaped choc cake with super big chocolate chip shaped choc topping and mini chocolate piece stuck on the choc topping created by our pastry team. You just can never over-do chocolates. Everything goes.

*pops a piece into my mouth*

"mm..... MMm!!! MMM!!!!"
"What? What? Does it taste bad??" asks Maxine trying to understand my mumbling which suddenly turned too exciting.
"mmm-mm-mm!!"
"hmm? oh! Cho-co-late?" Spit it out! Spit it out!"

hahaha....

"It's OK. You didn't swallow it."
"Yeah... Man, that was good cake over there."
"It's OK. Only 2 more days to go."

I can almost imagine people shaking their heads disapprovingly.

The in came my dessert buddy Iris, prancing happily into the office.

"So, is our brownie plan at DELIcious still on?!"
"hahaha... yes, yes..."

Happy Easter, people! :D

alumni party

One of the staff at Souled Out offered me a shot of Port as I approached the first floor. I have not even taken my last step yet! I thought to myself that if everyone took that shot as a welcome drink, then I suppose everyone should be kinda tipsy and jolly. Man, was I right. It wasn't even 8.oopm yet! Food was not served yet and so freeflow beer and wine on empty stomach equals lotsa drunk alumnis. Welcome to my college's Alumni's Party 2008. This was on 6 Nov 08, btw.

I suppose my batch was not invited yet (not old enough) and so everyone was just a familiar face but not acquaintances. I just watch as people acted silly and had fun being silly. I wonder why I have to attend this party! I'm not old enough!! Luckily I had a senior colleague with me, also an alumni.

(actually I was there representing my boss, who is an alumni himself, to get his distinguished alumni award as he is away on vacation)

I surveyed the room to check out who are the Taylorians of the yesteryears... then I was greeted by this jolly uncle who dressed like he was set to go on holiday in Phuket.

"Halooooo! Are you an alumni too? Which batch are you from?"
"I'm from Batch 18!"
"Oooh! I'm from Batch 4!"

Actually, I think his batch 4 was the first set of batches in the Kenny Hills campus before they moved to the second campur in Miharja and started a new set of codes. I was in the third campus in PJ. No way that he was only 14 batches before me.

Then as I explained that I was there to get an award for my boss, who is from the very first batch, he said his friend was from the first batch too! Unfortunately, after we located the first-batch-uncle, he was too tipsy to remember my boss.

I quickly excused myself and found my colleague also on the way to getting drunk. I made him go get some food from the buffet counter and let go of the wine for a while. OMG. Free flow of beer and wine is funny to watch but only for a while.

As the Kenny Hills gang made loads of noise in one corner, even bursting balloons, the Miharja (second campus before the PJ one) group were in another corner, sitting in a circle sharing gossips while trying to relive their twenty's clubbing days. -_-.... I thought it couldn't go any further until one of them decided to stand up and perform some dance in the middle of the circle.

Moving on.

So I found the corner with people nearer to my age and batch. OK. So got some business cards and some updates on the world, about Obama, about insurance.. etc. Man, I wished time would fly.

Then the COO of the college gave a speech but everyone was too noisy for him to be heard. Then as he was returning the mic to the MC, the first-batch-uncle seize the mic to give a speech as well. haha.. funny! This was his piece:

"When I see Taylorians, I ask them, "vous parlez francais?" and they will go "oui!" (weee). That is TCHT! Now, when you see a TCHT alumni, you ask "vous parlez francais?" you will hear..

"Oui(weeeee!)" responded the crowd. His speech seemed to have more impact than the previous one.

Finally, the time came for lucky draw! Aiya, I didn't even win the tupperwares!!

Next came the award presentation. So I presented my boss's speech. It was at this time I wish my voice was louder. Kenny Hills Gang were too busy bursting balloons.

Later on, there was a failed attempt to form a dancing circle in the middle of the dance floor because, as drunk as everyone was, the music was just not pumping enough. Looking around, the staff were serving more wine to the people! I thought they should stop.

I tried not to look bored and chat up a few people. I didn't know what else to talk about so I decided to sell my hotel's recently re-launched SkyBar.

Ooh! Second lucky draw! Again, I didn't win anything. -_-. At least my colleague won RM100 Haagen Dazs's vouchers! He didn't even realize when they called his name. I should have just taken it for him and pretended nothing happened. hmmm.

I really felt like I was in a story book of dark comedy that night. Too cynically funny to be true. I'm glad I could still find humour in such situations. Now, let me see if I can get my colleague to part with his vouchers!

problem solved

Dialled AirAsia's customer care number (for the 20th time) and left the phone on speaker mode.

Hi! Welcome to Air Asia! For English, please press 1! Untuk Bahasa Melayu, sila tekan 2!

Please be reminded that your conversation may be recorded for training purposes so that we can improve to serve you better. (Maybe this is from McDonalds. I got mixed up.)

All our sales agents still busy due to overwhelming response from our promotion! We'll be with you shortly.

Haha.. just wanted let you guys know what you will hear when you have called them too many times and failed to get to their busy busy sales agent.

So about the itinerary problem. After 20 minutes of listening to the same waiting tone, a lady finally picked up and say hello! (about 20 minutes because I left the phone and went to do some filing and training room set ups etc etc)

I told her about the problem and she said, "Oh your colleague's name is too long! But it is OK, it is just one letter short."

Oh just like that huh...

05 October 2008

air asia boo boo

I've always had high regards for Air Asia. You know, now everyone can fly. Affordable flights. Very simple online booking services. All was nice and dandy with my relationship with Air Asia but I suddenly remembered that my already action-packed Monday (tomorrow) is going to be worse because I have to call their impossible to get sales agent! %@$#!

I made a few reservations as usual for my colleagues who are going to China for training and everything was alright. They have a few steps from choosing dates and time, to guest names to payment options and then, THEN, came the Itinerary.

Name spelled wrongly?!

No freaking way.

And the worse part is I was duly informed by my frowning colleagues that they charge for any changes.

Wait a minute. Let me check. I clicked Back and I DID type correctly! omg! Don't you dare charge me! I have witnesses! Printed Screen as well should they need proof. (haha!)

I wonder if this is how they make that extra buck. Maybe people who are not confident with their reservations will think that they really did make the mistake and submit to their fate of paying for the changes. I wonder. And so I had to call them to get the problem rectified, right? I like problems being solved immediately.

Wah. Try calling Air Asia and if you ever get through, let me know. I tried for 2 days straight. sobs! I felt so helpless at that mo! nooo!

I'm looking forward to
1) get through to their sales agent (who are "still busy due to their current promotion" since forever)
2) see how they handle this situation (will they insist it is my fault and charge or have the probs rectified immediately?hmmm..)

29 September 2008

a vow for the month of October

*warning: this post might have a slight hint of BF (bitch fit)

Today, before I really thought it through, I told my colleagues that I vow not to spend unnecessarily for the whole month of October and I raised quite a few eyebrows and got quite a few "wow"s and turned quite a few heads.

Well, actually, everyone I told that to did the same reaction - turn to face me, raise eyebrows, said wow.

I just spent a lot of money colouring my hair and the result is No Diff because the previous red was too OTT so the normal blah brown (even in two coordinating Mahogany Schmany shades) just did not cut it and so the red still rules. It is as if I just sat there for 2.5 hours for nothing! Uh! So hurt!

So, I shall spend wisely to cover for this terrible mistake of an investment. Well, no biggie but just wanted to put it down in writing (literally) so that I will adhere to it. nod.

I just have to figure out what to do with my 20% discount voucher from Topshop which expires on 1 Oct 2008. hmmm.... this requires some meditation.

Anyways, I got a new toy!

Something that I have been looking for - really slim! and I love sony ericsson phones so I'm a happy camper for now! :)

13 September 2008

say no more

I woke up this morning feeling really fine. Like many of my other fellow rakyat who didn't catch up on the 8pm news yesterday, we woke up feeling like, woohoo, thank God it is a Saturday.

Little did I know that the country has fallen into really deep shit. I mean, it has been messy and it has been crazy and unbelievable (read the news in today's newspaper and found myself shaking my head) but NOW, it is really hopeless.

So editors and reporters are being detained for doing their job these days - reporting.
Did they miss out the guy who sweeps the drain for sweeping the drain?

So if I know of someone doing/saying something which is bad/harmful/unlawful, I'm not supposed to report it to do my part to keep this person from doing more harm?

Because my understanding now is if I were to tell, I will be the one punished. The person who did the shit will just chill. Wow. Why do the cops even encourage people to report crimes?

I used to think, omg, when will this childish political shit end. Soon enough. Let's not get too upset. NOW I think it will never ever end and will never get better. Warning: We are so moving backwards. Pretty soon, don't be surprised if you read about passing laws for stoning law offenders.

Maybe they will stone the reporters?

I'm so disappointed. I have always loved this country and have always defended her and the supposed leaders, saying things will be better. But all her beauty, her wonderful people and her promising future is crumbling just because of a few people doing things for their own political/selfish/special agenda. Seriously, we deserve better than this. The country deserves better.

We deserve better.

11 June 2008

things we have to go through in life

Remember the time when you laboriously elaborate how you want your hairstyle to your hairstylist and then have your hair turn out like something else?

Because he thinks
-it suits you better
-it is the current style, everybody wants it
-it will look nice on you. who knows? never try never know!
-your head is a good platform for experimentation
-that he has done a mistake somewhere and tries to cover it up
-you deserve it (maybe)
-he is Midas (whatever)

He probably didn't think this - "But that's not what my customer WANT".

Clearly, he has missed the first semester of his hairstyling course. -_-

No Internet

I have no internet in my room, I have no internet in my room, I have no internet in my room. It sort of explains why I have not been blogging. Because blogging from a cafe or restaurant just feel so weird. Like how I'm feeling right now. With another patron vying for the plug point and people peeking behind you.

I shall update soon with pictures and stuff. I have so much to tell! I will get my internet soon! As soon as I have the time to apply for it... Just you wait.

Till then, tata!

raya mood

Today I joined Hajar in her quest to buy 'baju raya' in One Utama. Although I have just had a rather long shopping trip to Midvalley the day before, I figured that a woman can never shop too much. I told myself that I won't buy anything. Well, we set off very early at about 10.40am to sort of be the first to get to the goodies. Haha! Talk about being kiasu. Anyways, I was feeling really hungry and so Hajar recommended we try Carl's Jr. burgers. I first heard of Carl's Jr. when they had a rather raunchy advertisement starring Paris Hilton in some swimming suit doing a car wash and eating their burger. And it was well-received when its first outlet in Singapore was launched (or so I read in 8days magazine). Well, one thing's for sure - they have achived publicity.

Anyways, OK. Let's have a freaking big burger for brunch!

How big is big?! Their promo cards are as below:

Definitely.

As we were waiting for the burger to arrive, we exchanged stories about work. It is interesting that finally there is someone who knows what I'm talking about because Hajar is in Human Resources too. :) The burgers arrived promptly and the fries were hot from the stove and so I was really satisfied.
Me and my Western Bacon Something Something burger.

Hajar with her 'SuperStar with Cheese'

As you can see, it is about 3/4 of the size of our faces. I guess they have kept to their promo promise. I actually finished mine! Plus some fries! Can't believe? Ask Hajar. OMG, I can eat. It has been proven.

After the meal, we went walking around and around looking for shoes, clothes, etc etc. There were sales everywhere! Except for items that we want, of course. Not as many people as I have expected; with the occasional kid running into your knees. Or popping balloons. Or spilling ice-cream. Adorable but that's a safety hazard! I mean the ice-cream on the floor, not the kid. But nonetheless, it was quite hectic.

We watched Resident Evil too. A movie I had no intentions whatsoever to watch. I didn't even have the intention to know what it was about. I thought it was some show about aliens. Then Hajar told me it was a horror movie. OK. So I sat through the whole movie prepared to feel horrified. Well, those 'undeads' are absolutely horrible and so irritating! You kill and you kill and they keep on coming. Not too bad but would have prefered something like Lust, Caution instead. I think I should watch this movie! So much hype going on about it! Hmm.

Anyways, we continued our search for Hajar's dream dress. Just as things were getting a little too tiring, we saw these people crowd around these yellow people. The DiGi yellow man!! I have always wanted to take a photo with them! SO cute! There were two of them and one was skinny while the other was more 'well-rounded'. I refused to take a photo with the skinny one and had to wait till those kids leave the other one before I could take a photo. Obviously, the round-er one is more popular. It was a bit 'malufying' (embarassing) to be chasing kids away so I asked Hajar to go first. Haha! The yellow man actually already have a fixed pose and fixed smile. I also realize that the yellow men had 4 fingers only! hehe. (I was figuring out why he didn't do the 'V' or peace sign)

Oops, caught me there. Yes, I did buy some things.

By the way, I'm a Maxis user! Oh-oh... Are they going to lose me as their customer now? Because DiGi has a cute mascot? We'll wait and see.

I'm still pretty much depending on my parents for money for this month and so I called my dad to inform him that I have been shopping yesterday and today... with the card. Told him not to be surprised with the amount and stuff.

I thought my dad would sort of give me a long lecture about life and how hard money is earned and stuff and saving for the future. I was prepared. But he said:

"It's OK. I was telling your mom, whatever you spend, as long as you are the one paying for it, go ahead."

Part of me said : Sure, dad. Cool! See ya this weekend!
Another part of me said : Huh... Must pay back... *whine*

Then a tiny part of me said : Of course la, 22 years old already wei.

I also mentioned : "Cut from my allowance la"

But that comment was somehow ignored or my dad didn't hear it and the subject was changed. Hmm. Hmmmmm.... Eeek!

18 September 2007

bye bye shoes...

In view of my soon-to-be migration to PJ, I have given away 3 pairs of shoes. The blue one and the polka dots ones that I think is too late to wear anymore because, seriously, I'm 22 and working. That means less 3 shoe boxes to move. Phew. Still have 20 more... hmm... And lots and lots of books and notes and clothes. And lots of pillows and plushies. And my faithful mattress. omg.

I really shouldn't have collected so many things. And looking for a room. omg. Today was the first time in months that I have a headache. As in real full-on headache. Like migraine headache. I couldn't even bear to look at my fan because the spinning makes me "fly". No, I did not just take some weird unprescribed drug, in case you were wondering. Just Vitamin C to prevent myself from falling sick which is a big NO NO because my oral defence is this Friday and all my four months of internship counts on this one hour show to get my marks. *big sigh* (losing 3 days of my life in the process)*

I sat at my desk for a while and kept on trying to concentrate on my slides while thinking about the room and the moving and my future place's surroundings and potential food stalls which I may wanna try and how I would spend my weekends and if I'll get to try the Ramadhan stalls in time and when I should get a car and if I should change my wardrobe and when I should go back to Kluang and oh how the Kluang Station toasted bun would taste after so long and of course Central Chicken Rice and sleeping late and mom's dishes and what to wear on my first day of work and which shoe to go with it and so on. One thing led to another. Soon, I gave up on my slides and ended up eating a large McDonalds McValue Meal. I don't normally eat large sets because I don't normally finish regular sets. I finished my large set and even regretted not getting an apple pie too. I'm totally growing.

Anyways, I was just wondering if I should buy back 3 pairs of shoes after I have moved. Haha. OK, OK. Yes, there are more important things in life to think about, Yvonne.

i feel like throwing a tantrum

I really hate looking for a new home. The whole process is just too tiring and it takes up all the space in your thinking mind. I somehow feel everything is not going my way this time around. Why is that? It takes up all my time too. I hate wasting time.

Eeeeeeeeeee. I hate this.

AND I have to complete my slides and prepare the materials for my oral defence which is on this Friday afternoon. Meanwhile I have to travel to all these crazy places to view apartments.

Sigh. I totally hate this.

KTM blooooz

The other day I was, as usual, stuck inside the crowded KTM trying my best to hold onto a pole shared by many so that I won't accidentally fall onto any of the not-so-good looking guys around me. Anyways, I saw a pregnant lady standing in front of the occupied row of seats. I mean, she's pregnant! She should be the one seated! I was infuriated! Why didn't those 3 people in front of her give up their seats for her?! I searched for an answer. These people! Can you believe it?! They were sleeping! Or were they pretending to sleep? This kind of situation is dangerous for the lady and her unborn child. Why didn't the people around her try to wake those 3 people up? If they won't do it, I will! I tried to squeeze nearer. Then, just then, the said pregnant lady turned to face the door so her right side was facing me and somehow gave me a clearer picture of her current stage in pregnancy. It was then, just then, I realize that I should stop my quest for justice.

She wasn't pregnant!

Aiyaa...

I think she was even offended by my intention to help her.

Hmm......

KTM Lesson 101: Do not attempt to help a pregnant lady unless she is in a maternity dress.

One after another...

A picture paints a thousand words...

This paints that I'm going to face my finals soon (coming Monday) and that I'm not in the mood to study at the moment. But at the same time, the skull and bones sort of paints that I sense I'm in trouble. But the lackadaisical attitude shows in the fact that it has perfectly straight teeth and loves to brush its teeth. At the same time, the Purple Eyed Monster looks scary, like I'm really scared, but actually it was a mistake. My "e" turned out too ugly so I turned it into a monster. I couldn't think of anything for "a" so I made it a capital "A" in yellow and singing because that's what I want to achieve... I hope... I wish... I pray... As for the "m"... well, no comments. A lazy excuse which paints that I am really not putting much effort into this. Trust me. With effort, you could sell this on eBay. Last but not least, the "s". I have always used snakes as "s", ever since I knew how to draw and they were always green with black zig zag pattern on its back. How original, right? Anyways, it is actually wiggling to get away - don't know from what. I got a feeling it is headed for the beach. Wow. It really does paint a thousand words.

309-tales of a technophobe

Intro: You're in for a long read...

The first time I saw this particular promo poster, I questioned, "Why 309 ya? Is it like 4400 (the series)? Did they get lost somewhere too? Or maybe it is a date? 30th September? Is it a code?"

I very much later found out that it was actually 300. The extra splash of blood, which was a feature in this movie, made it look like 309. And it is about the ancient Greek world which is something I like to watch because I know oh-so-little about this part of history. And Brad Pitt made it look so glorious in Troy. I was just wondering how accurate these movies were. Anyways, I got the movie from Jiawei and was ready to watch it. Or was I?

I was craving for a movie. Any movie. Just to spend an hour or two staring at my laptop, not necessarily paying attention and comprehending whatever efforts that has been poured into the making of a movie. I wanted to Crunchyroll a Korean movie; probably a funny one with a really cute guy. No luck. Why is it loading so slow today? Leave it on for a while. OK. Something else in the meantime. Is my Grey's Anatomy 3 Epi 1 done? Nope. 80%. Aiyo... Looks like I'll have to settle for bloodbath 300. This is like a last resort thing. I wasn't in the mood for the Spartan's killing spirit. I was planning to keep this movie till when I really need the spirit to do-or-die. Then somehow my media player won't play it. Ar!! Why! ROar! I really want to watch a movie! Now I have even passed my nap time! Never mind- chillax. Use Gom. Ar!! Compatibility issues! ROar ROar!

I asked my housemate if she had any movies for me to watch. She had one Korean one which is superbly funny and has a cute guy in it. The BIG problem was they were speaking Korean and the subtitles were in Chinese. Ar! Why didn't I pay attention in Mandarin classes! Ar!! Then seeing my flustered face, she offered some old movies. I picked one which was still OK.... It was Casanova. I seriously don't know since when this show existed. Then, when I tried to play it, the player cannot read it because it is too scratched! My laptop actually told me that the cd is either too scratched or is dirty. Since when did laptops do that? Even my 3M fibre cloth thing couldn't help. I'm doomed.

*dialled Jiawei's number* "Dear! Why cannot watch?! Stress! Help!"

Upon Jiawei's advice, I downloaded another player will most probably play this file. It is taking too long. OK. Give up. Technophobes usually do this when the second available option fails. To nap it is.

When I woke up, I found that the file which I have been downloading for so long was not really an installable file... Not that I know what I'm talking about. It just doesn't work, OK? Delete button is the only option for you now, you sorry little waste of space! I just don't like my desktop to be so cluttered... :D

Then I thought, it is OK. My Korean movie should be done by now. Oh yeah, it is. I cooked my new found favourite egg noodle (healthier than Maggi, I suppose, because I'm on a Maggi strike [because they wouldn't come to my exhibition]) and made my teh-O panas and settled down to watch. I managed to watch the first 2 minutes of silence and whispering and then it jammed when the lead actor was appearing. Ar!! ROar! Why! I just really wanted to watch a movie!

*dialled Jiawei's number* "Opah! Help! Everything just won't work!"

After Jiawei helped me calm down, I decided to abandon the whatever player and take matters into my own hands. Download a new Gom (of course Jiawei suggested this too). Finally, after a few minutes, it worked!

*dialled Jiawei's number* "Opah! Can redi! Can watch redi! I graduated!"

Jiawei said he was proud of me and is happy to see that I have this spirit. Because then he wouldn't have to be on call to help me solve my techno-probs all the time. Well, not like he was studying or anything at the moment. It is my right, right?

Anyways, finally getting to watch 300 was like this glory you feel after you win a war. Gosh, these people were harsh on their kids. The people of Sparta were all good looking. I know, I know, they discard the not-so-good babies but everyone looked good. The men looked like Brad Pitts in Troy and the women had serious curves. Then when King Leonidas decided to bring some 300 men to "take a stroll, stretch their legs" and sort of secretly defend Sparta against one million Persians, they looked like 300 Brad Pitts in Troy taking strolls and stretching legs. Did I mention that I just wanted to watch a movie to stare at the pc for an hour or two without paying attention?

As I was about a few minutes into the movie, I suddenly heard someone talking in Korean. Oh, NOW the movie, which jammed earlier, decided to play. What just happened? I really don't know. Sigh. I wish I knew. Hmm. Anyways, to stop the Korean movie for the meantime, I could have just clicked "pause" but I clicked "X". So, there goes Part 1...

One thing I realize was that this 300 movie had a lot of blood. Blood splashing, spurting, dripping. However, I don't see any blood on the ground. Totally CGI I think. Something like when I watch Jiawei play World of Warcraft. The dead people will bleed and then somehow the blood and bones will disappear. Did I miss the housekeeping team? I don't really rationally know what I'm saying. Anyways, I saw that when the Spartans decided to kill the messengers, they stabbed, the blood spurted but when the guys fall into the well, they don't have any wounds or blood stains. Hehe. I know I'm not supposed to look so much into this movie. But I think it was very "yeng" (gaya, stylo mylo) of the Spartans each time they charge forward.

After that movie, it was about time for me to do my laundry because they have been soaking for about 4 hours now. My MSN nick read:
"doing laundry... as usual... my favourite activity of all time.. whoa... woohoo... yay... tres bien..."

Boy, was I washing. For victory! For clean clothes! My two hands against you big pile of laundry! ROar!

Anyways, washing clothes is one of the most hated chore around. After ironing clothes. And washing dishes. I just can't take it anymore! My skin is very sensitive!! ArR! Wear gloves? But the substance inside gloves are the main cause of my finger's sensitivity. No choice. But then, hand-washing clothes gives you a sense of confidence towards the outcome of the clothes later. How many times have you thrown your clothes into the washing machine and have them come out disfigured, discoloured and so crinkled you need to steam them before ironing? This question is not applicable to males.

OK, we have Japanese washing machine nets for the above. I was just consoling myself.

After the laundry, I saw that the Epi 1 of Grey's Anatomy is done! 100%! Whoopie! I'm really into technology now... My first downloaded episode of a series. Cool stuff. I right clicked and there was no "Open with..." Sigh...

"Opah!!"

A Turmoil

little miss bliss. I'm getting a little embarassed with this blog name. Maybe I should change it to miss bliss instead? I'm not too little anymore. Why bliss? Is there really so much to be happy and cheerful about? Why am I questioning this? I thought the theme is miss bliss because I wanted to focus on seeing the lighter and brighter side of things. Because we are supposed to be happy when we are young in order to have a happy lifetime (based on some research in some newspaper I read some time ago). Where is this bliss? On the label of my bottle of yoghurt drink. Seriously, I have not been able to type a single word the last few days because I didn't have a chance to look on the brighter and lighter side. What's so bright and light about food poisoning and diarrhea? (hmmm, at least I think I have less toxin in my body now). Maybe it is the reason to skip school for one day and take charcoal pills. Is my body calling out to me to take a rest? "Eh, woman, chillax wei". How do I relax and chill out when everything is in "pending" mode. The interviews. The exhibitors. The assignments awaiting my attempt. The finals. The French exams. The laundry. The research. The thesis. The news. The library book. The beach holiday(Oh, the beach holiday. God bless the beach holiday for it will be pending until at least end of this year). I hate waiting. I don't like to wait for things and I don't like things to wait for me. But it is happening and it cannot be avoided. Welcome to the life of a final-year student. Is it really so welcoming? I would be put off actually. But maybe it is an invitation for you to take a peek. It is quite nice to read about some other people's sufferings because then you wouldn't think you are alone in your miseries. Why am I assuming that everybody has misery? Am I really suffering? Why do I think that maybe I have been doing things in a wrong way all these while? Why do I think that every one of you reading this owes me an answer? What's wrong with me? Why am I turning cynical? Aren't I supposed to be optimistic (miss bliss, ma)? Why am I questioning? Am I not sure of myself? Not my usual self? No more clear objectives? Why do I feel like puking?

5 minutes later (after hugging ah pooh and a glass of Dutch Lady Low Fat Milk)

Ah. Finally got all those thoughts off my chest. Is this what we call mindless rant? It feels quite good sometimes. But I'm still giving serious thought into taking out 'little' from little miss bliss. I thought maybe I wouldn't post this after all. But I also thought why waste my typing effort!! Anyways, a clearer picture for you:

1) I didn't get the two hotels that I really wanted. (No space)
2) My period is due around the next few days. (No wonder (la))
3) I'm going for an all time big time interview this Saturday. And I'm nervous. (No joke)
4) I'm hungry. (No, seriously)
